About The Event

"The music of the stars is mine, and the melody o'the moon

Oh do you not hear them singing to you in the silence of the night"

Who wouldn't delight in the experience of this heavenly setting where you are invited to share a a morning yoga practice inspired by the Goddess Tara.

Born from the tears of a Buddhist monk - Tara's birth story begins when Avolakiteshvara first looked out on the world and witnessed only suffering - it was for this that he wept.   Born from a tear falling from his right eye, Green Tara leaps to our defence as the great protectress.   Her 3-fold mantra reveals the ways in which she saves.  White Tara, born from a tear falling from the monk's left eye, is the gentler form of the goddess.  She complements her sisters message of wisdom, truth and perseverance that enables us to overcome our troubles and fears and obstacles that bind us to misunderstanding.  White Tara is the compassionate mother who lifts us up and carries us over the ocean of samsara (birth, life and rebirth), she is there to support us in times of trouble and to enlighten our understanding of our own inner divine nature which is beyond the physical boundary of the body.

As we dive into the nourishing rivers of a full spectrum practice, which offers simple sacred chants; breath awareness, uplifting creative asana sequences to open the heart and a kriya from the kundalini school of yoga to bring balance and clarity into the nervous system.

With insightful offerings of the unique qualities she conveys, you can gain a deeper sense of how you might relate to the Goddess or Shakti energy.  We each have a capacity to plug into these powerfully inspiring currents that emerge when energy is channelled from the Goddess.  In ancient lore it is Shakti, the feminine energy (a principle not a gender) who wields the power of creation, preservation and dissolution.

These woodland practices are unique and each Goddess chosen has a unique character, archetypal qualities and various epithets which enable us to develop an understanding of their fascinating symbolism. It also shed light as to why our ancestors believed and worshipped them and perhaps from there we start to make connections with their inspiration which begin to manifest in our own daily lives.

You will discover for yourself the benefits which flow from extending, strengthening and intergratating body, mind and spirit through the practice of yoga enhanced by these dharmic offerings of ancient  philosophy and inspirational mythology - they dance together seamlessly and entwine in a divinely sweet blend of illuminated knowledge and awareness.

Our practice will close with a deeply relaxing guided meditation to bring us back into the heart centre with greater awareness & an enhanced perception of our own inner beauty,  divine nature and connection to the deities of old.
